Happy Thanksgiving

When you live in the city it’s often difficult to appreciate all the beauty that fall brings. Thanksgiving weekend is one of the only weekends I get to really appreciate fall, when I visit my parents farm in Grafton. My sis’ and our beu’s will escape the city on Saturday for a weekend full of activities! Skeet shooting (a Kelly family tradition where my beux currently holds the title trophy), wood collecting (a “chore” I dreaded as a kid who grew up on a farm), raking leaves, preparing for dinner and of course eating! This year we will have close to 20 people gather around our table. Both family (including my over 90 year old grandparents) and friends will fill our newly built log cabin located just beside my parent’s house.  It was a rough week here at JKD so a weekend with my favorite people, fresh air and comfort food will be just what the doctor ordered. And on that note it kind makes ya wonder what’s really important in life doesn’t it? Often our personal and professional problems can seem as big MOUNTAINS but when I sit down to a dinner of plenty with the people I love this weekend I know those MOUNTAINS will seem more like mole hills. And for this, I am oh so grateful and truly blessed. Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving.
