Stoney Lake Cottage

About the Project

The old sleeping Bunkie, gave way to a new, larger cottage, that pays homage to the charm of the boat house while offering a more functional space. The vision was to seamlessly integrate the new addition into the surrounding forest, avoiding the sterile feel of a typical 'brand new build'.

Inside, thoughtful details such as the custom chevron and antique salvaged doors add depth and character to the space. Storage solutions were expertly integrated beneath stairs and dormers, ensuring practicality without sacrificing style.

Materials were selected that prioritized durability yet embraced imperfections, recognizing that sandy feet and wet bathing suits are part of the joy of cottage living. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to preserving heritage while embracing the beauty of the present moment.
